"The Time Out brand has a strong presence in Dubai with ITP Media Group whose editors were instrumental in selecting our line-up, which reads like the who’s who of Dubai’s homegrown culinary talent. Time Out Market Dubai will feature some of the best chef concepts in the city - including Reif Japanese Kushiyaki, folly by Nick & Scott, Mattar Farm, and BB Social Dining. “We are pleased to partner with Emaar Malls on the new opening of Time Out Market Dubai in the beautiful Souk Al Bahar." said CEO, Didier Souillat. Groups larger than 6 would require a reservation. Contactless payment will also be available via the dual language (Arabic and English) Time Out Market app. To promote proper social distancing, artfully designed dividers will be placed on the communal style tables, inscribed with quotes from cultural thought leaders who love the city. To ensure continuous cleanliness, there will be sanitisation stations at the entrances, a dedicated cleaning crew and plexiglass shields at all eatery counters and bars to create ample social distance between groups. This includes the latest innovation in advanced air circulation technology and state of the art fresh-air filtration systems. Keeping in mind the times we live in, Time Out Market Dubai will open exceeding all health and safety standards without losing the fun experience that makes the Market special. The glass ceiling bathes the open-plan atrium in natural light, where visitors will dine with a remarkable view of the Burj Khalifa." Further to this, the high, columned arches are in-keeping with Souk Al Bahar’s design, reflecting a modern spin on the traditional Middle Eastern marketplaces. We have ensured that the layout of the space provides more intimate seating areas, inside and out, for groups of families and friends to spend quality time together, eating, drinking and being immersed in city culture. The unique fingerprint of Time Out Market Dubai’s interior design is the addition of natural palettes and materials, influenced by the distinct colours surrounding Dubai. João Cepeda, President & Creative Director at Time Out Market commented: “Like the content and stories of Time Out, the design of each Market reflects the soul of the city. This artfully contrasts with the industrial interiors and neon art displays reflecting the urban landscape. T he wooden tables and aesthetics replicate the grain and colour of the city’s sandy shorelines. With a lot of inspiration from the desert landscapes of the region, the columns are wrapped in terracotta tiles from Lisbon and are reminiscent of the red sand dunes. The market has a lot of Arabesque influences and has been designed in collaboration with interior architects - Zebra. Spanning 43,000 sq ft, the market will feature 17 homegrown eateries along with three bars, cultural experience spaces, and a 3,000 sqft wraparound terrace. Due to release in early 2021, the Time Out Market Dubai is bound to be a hotspot for residents and visitors in the Downtown Dubai area and beyond.
